Tamworth bounced back from a laclustre game last week with a strong team performance. Tamsin Cross, Issy Hounsome, Marite Liepina-Liepa and Gemma Wheelhouse bossed the midfield with excellent passing and great individual skills. Streetlys keeper had a great game and kept Tamworth out with some excellent saves. Tamworth central defender Sarah Hutchins kept Streetly out of the circle with solid tackling throughout the game. In the second half Tamworth kept up the movement in midfield and Liepina-Liepa went past three defenders before slipping the ball past the keeper to open the scoring. Streetly were awarded a short corner shortly afterwards and finished well to level the score. Tamworth then had aseries of shorts themselves and Cross put the ball out to Paula Cooper who slipped the ball for Wheelhouse to power a shot that took a deflection from a defender on the way to beat the keeper to put Tamworth ahead again. Wheelhouse then scored an impressive individual goal beating defenders into the circle before smashing the ball past the keeper to make the final score 3-1 to Tamworth. Cross and Hounsome were league and club player of the match respectively.
