| Match Report | Tamworth Men’s First XI were beaten 4-2 away at Old Halesonians on Saturday. Tamworth started the game brightly but fell behind midway through the first half to a well worked penalty corner routine. Town then got a lifeline when following a quickly taken free hit by Ryan Brisco the ball ran kindly for Ben Popple to slip under the keeper from the left. Town worked hard to remain in a game with Tom Hancox going close before Old Hales reestablished their lead before the break to lead 2-1. The next goal was crucial and unfortunately it was the hosts who grabbed it before added a fourth later in the game. Tamworth pulled one back in the closing stages with a smart finish from Brisco but came away empty handed. This Saturday they face Edgbaston at home in a must win game as they sit just one place above Town |
