| Match Report |
Tamworth travelled to Stourport for a 3.15pm pushback and in the first half it was a very even game with both teams having possession and putting each defence under pressure. Tamworth were unlucky not to be a goal up at half time as a short corner strike by Charley Rowe was stopped on the line by a defenders stick/foot. Tamworth were pushed off the ball in 50/50 challenges with a very physical Stourport team who were eager for possession. In the second half Tamworth remained determined and passed the ball better, however on a Stourport attack and a defensive error the home team scrambled the opening goal of the match. Tamworth kept on fighting for the equaliser and in the last 5 minutes of the game we were awarded with that goal from a fiesty run by Nadia Williams, she received the ball in the attacking 25, ran to the biline and took the ball along the line and after being challenged by a couple of defenders and the goal keeper Nadia put the ball in the back of the net........training paying dividends as Tamworth get the 1-1 result and a point on the table to remain joint second in the league. |
