Tamworth Ladies 1stteam were unfortunate not to get more from this game against unbeaten table topping Leamington.
Tamworth started brightly and demonstrated grit and determination as the defence kept Leamington at bay. The Town side then went on to open the scoring when Laura Webb finished superbly to beat the helpless goalkeeper.
The goal gave Tamworth momentum and were unlucky not to score again. Leamington’s table topping form was shown in the second period though as they fought back with a number of short corner goals to snatch the lead. As Tamworth piled forward to try and grab the equaliser Leamington scored a third sealing the win. Tamworth will not be disappointed with the effort displayed throughout in this tough home fixture, but will probably be disappointed they did not snatch at least a point in what was a positive performance. |
