Ladies over 45's Vs Telford and Wrekin

The ladies over 45s faced a strong Telford side as they lost 8-2 in the first round of the national cup competition. Tamworth made a decent start to the game passing the ball around nicely but as Telford settled and came more into the game they created a few goalscoring opportunities and with more clinical finishing could have scored a couple of times before they eventually took the lead, they added two more goals before a good move down the right, the ball fell to Becky Wootton in the 'D' who with a superb reverse flick over the GK pulled a goal back for the town, Sarah Arnold added a second soon after as she smashed the ball home from the top of the 'D'.

The second session saw another 5 goals for Telford as they took their chances in front of goal. Tamworth continued to compete well and as the game opened up they could have added to their score and were unlucky on a couple of occasions not to have do so. Now they go into the plate competition hoping for a good cup run.
