Match Report

Tamworth Men's First XI roared out of the blocks following the mid season break by recording a 7-0 victory at home to Leamington.  Town started brightly and took an early lead following a break down the right wing and Tom Hancox squeezed the ball in from a tight angle after a pass from Keiron Dash.  Soon after Ryan Brisco doubled the lead when he took a cross on the move and fired passed the keeper.  Two further goals then came from penalty corners, firstly Tom Sperrink drilled his shot inside the near post then Ian Wagstaff drag flicked inside the same post.  Andy Herring completed the scoring in the first half when he converted a cut back from Hancox.

In the second half Leamington posed more of a threat and the hosts defence handled their breakaway moves well.  Tamworth added a sixth and seventh goal with Wagstaff bagging his second from a penalty corner low to the keepers right and Brisco matching him with a brace when he drove into the top of the D and struck his shot into the corner.
